Senator Joe Manchin hinted that he was open to negotiating revisions to President Biden’s Build Back Better bill months after torpedoing the $2 trillion spending bill. Manchin claimed the original bill was too expensive and ambitious in its social spending. The West Virginia Senator recently told climate activists and energy executives at a private dinner that he would be willing to support a bill narrowed down to address only climate change, prescription drug prices, deficit reduction and an updated tax code.
