Frisco Pastor Keith Craft calls for stopping mosque expansion and urges Christians to take a stronger role in politics ahead of the midterm election.

On Let’s Talk Midterms, the Elevate Life Church founder joins host Sarah Zubiate Bennett to discuss Frisco’s transformation, Islam and what he expects from Christian leaders.

Asked whether Christians should call for a prohibition on mosque expansion, Craft responded, “100%.”

He frames his opposition to Islam in theological terms and says Christians should speak firmly while controlling their anger. He also rejects giving mosques the same constitutional protections to build and practice their religion that churches have.

Federal law prohibits local governments from discriminating on the basis of religion in zoning decisions.

Debate over mosque development in Frisco previously drew hours of public comment at City Hall, as The Dallas Express reported.

Craft describes his church’s work developing male leaders and educating voters. He argues that Christians need to organize, support their churches and participate in elections.

“We’ve got to be strong politically,” he said.

The conversation also covers how Craft started his church in 2000 and why he believes voters should weigh candidates against biblical values rather than personal likability.
